The Embassy will participate in the second edition of the Month of Europe in Cuba

On 5 April 2024, at the emblematic for the EU-Cuba relations "Palacio del Segundo Cabo" in Old Havana, was presented the program of the second edition of the Month of Europe in Cuba, to be held in the period April 9 - May 9.

The Bulgarian Embassy will take part in five thematic blocks, with a total of 11 initiatives, which will take place in four cities - Havana, Cienfuegos, Holguin and Santiago de Cuba. Among them are:

  • Second workshop on Bulgarian cuisine, with emphasis on yogurt;
  • Participation in the Festival of European Cinema with the Bulgarian film "The naked truth about the Zhiguli group";
  • Participation in the Mise international festival of educational cinema;
  • On April 16, Bulgarian universities and the opportunities for higher education in Bulgaria will be presented at the Education Festival in "Palacio del Segundo Cabo";
  • Easter egg painting workshops in Cuban schools;
  • Second golf tournament "Bulgaria-Cuba Friendship";
  • Second edition of "Diplomat for a day" - Cuban students will get to know the daily work of the Embassy and will be assistants to the ambassador and diplomats in protocol events;

For the first time, the Week of Bulgarian Culture will be held outside Havana.

In the cities of Cienfuegos, Holguín and Santiago de Cuba, Dr. Petya Ilieva will present an exhibition of her paintings, as well as will hold creative workshops in local schools. The official events will take place in the halls of the Hotel “Pernik”.

In the city of Cienfuegos, our host will be the "Vasil Levski" plant, where the events will take place in front of the bust of the Bulgarian national hero Vasil Levski, and in Santiago de Cuba the French cultural institute "Alianza Francesa.
