On March 3rd 2020 in front of the monument of the Finnish warriors perished in the Russian-Turkish Liberation War, a solemn ceremony was held on the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Bulgaria, with the participation of the Commandant of Helsinki, the Commander of the Finnish Guard, senior military and members of the Finnish-Bulgarian Friendship Society.

In tribute to those perished for the Liberation of Bulgaria, Milen Dimitrov, Charge d'affaires of the Embassy of Bulgaria in Finland, accompanied by the Embassy staff, laid a wreath with the Bulgarian tricolor at the monument. Under the sounds of a military brass band, flowers were laid also by the Commandant of Helsinki and representatives of the Finnish-Bulgarian Friendship Society.
