Canadian citizens holding valid regular passports may reside in the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria without visas for a total duration of up to 90 days within a period of 6 months, starting from the date of their first entry.
To apply for a visa, applicants living in the province of Ontario shall appear at the Consulate General in person. No previous appointment is required.
Applicants living outside the province of Ontario may also apply by mail. At the discretion of the Consulate General, applicants living outside the province of Ontario may also be required to appear in person.
By calling 416 696 2420, applicants can obtain from officials of the Consulate General information on the requisite set of documents to be presented depending on the desired type of visa.
The visa application processing charge is indicated in the Charges section.
The Bulgarian Consular Section does not collect any additional charges other than the application processing charges indicated for the separate visa categories and has not authorised any third parties to provide such services!
The visa application is free!
The visa issuance charge shall be paid in cash at the visa desk. Persons applying by mail shall send a money order or a certified cheque issued to the Consulate General of the Republic of Bulgaria in Toronto. No personal cheques are accepted!
The Consular Section has the powers to require additional documents and to interview the applicant, at the discretion of the consular officer.
No visa application processing charges will be refunded in case of refusal!
Visa applications may not be submitted earlier than 3 months prior to the intended date of the trip!
No transit visa shall be required of third-country citizens provided that they present any of the following documents:
- a Schengen (uniform) visa, a long-stay visa, a residence permit issued by any of the countries of the Schengen area
