On January 13, the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg hosted the opening of the exhibition “Paradise is Now” by the talented young Bulgarian artist Alexander Panayotov. The exhibition, which will be open to visitors until April 11, presents thirty exceptional paintings specially curated for this prestigious venue.

On December 7, 2024, a literary meeting was held at Espace Art Gallery in Brussels with one of the brightest contemporary Bulgarian authors, René Karabash (Irena Ivanova). The event was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Belgium and attracted representatives from cultural and literary circles, the Bulgarian community, and literature enthusiasts.

The Bulgarian Government has extended the COVID-19 related domestic restrictions and certain international entry restrictions until at least 30 April 2021.

As from 1 March 2020, road vehicles with a total technically permissible maximum weight exceeding 3,5 tonnes circulating on paid road sections in Bulgaria will have to pay for their use distance-based road charges – toll. The toll replaces the electronic vignette for heavy vehicles and buses.

On 17th December the governor of Sofia District Ilian Todorov visited Liege and met with the acting governor of the Province of Liege Mrs Catherine Delcourt. He was accompanied by Her Excellency Ambassador Maya Dobreva and the Honorary Consul of Bulgaria for the Walloon Region Luc Sougné. The meeting took place in the Provincial Palace where Mr Todorov and Mrs Delcourt discussed the possibilities for cooperation in different spheres of mutual interest. A memorandum for cooperation in the field of public security and civil protection was signed.

A seminar for Belgian companies on the economic opportunities, related to the structural funds in Bulgaria and Romania under the current programming period 2014-2020 took place on 28 November 2018 in Brussels. The event was organized by the Flanders Investment and Trade Agency (FIT) and the Walloon Agency on Export and Investment (AWEX).
