On August 2, 2019, the UN Security Council held an Open Debate on "Children and Armed Conflicts (CAAC)".

The findings in the Secretary-General's Reports on CAAC served as basis for discussion. Lachezara Stoeva delivered Bulgaria's statement ,

expressing deep concern for the record number of killings and maiming of children, as well as the spike in cases of sexual violence.

She highlighted the importance of the resolution 2475, adopted in June 2019 and co-sponsored by Bulgaria, regarding the protection of persons with disabilities in conflicts.
