Main information — satellite-based tolling system in Bulgaria

As from 1 March 2020, road vehicles with a total technically permissible maximum weight exceeding 3,5 tonnes circulating on paid road sections in Bulgaria will have to pay for their use distance-based road charges – toll. The toll replaces the electronic vignette for heavy vehicles and buses.

Elena Marushiakova, associate professor at the Institute for Ethnology and Folklore Studies of the Bulgarian Academy of Science and professor at the University St Andrews, where she currently works on a study of the Roma peoples’ civic emancipation in the period between the two World wars of the 20th century – the Roma Inter Bellum project, funded by the European Research Council.

The Bulgarian Christmas song "The Son of God" was performed at the St. Johannes Church in Stockholm at the Christmas concert held on December 17, 2019, on a joint initiative by the Representation of the European Commission and the embassies to Sweden of 12 EU Member States – Bulgaria, Germany, Estonia, Greece, Spain, Italy, Latvia , Hungary, Austria, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.
