The Bulgarian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Sweden, Ivan Pavlov, hosted a reception on March 1st at the Embassy in Stockholm on the occasion of Bulgaria’s National Day.

Special guest of the event was the Swedish Minister of Defence Peter Hultquist. In his address he highlighted the positive development of the bilateral Bulgarian-Swedish relations and the solid grounds for further deepening of the existing partnerships based on the similar perspectives shared by the two countries on a range of important global, European and regional issues. Pointing to the many challenges facing the European Union on the eve of the elections for the European parliament, Minister Hultquist expressed his confidence that Bulgaria and Sweden will continue to develop active cooperation in line with the common goals of the European Union to strengthen the security and prosperity of the European citizens.

The reception was attended by more than 200 guests, among them the President of the Stockholm City Council, high-level representatives of the Swedish Royal Court, ministries and state agencies, representatives of the business community, foreign ambassadors to Sweden, as well as representatives of the Bulgarian diaspora.
