On Sunday, 8th of September, the Bulgarian Embassy and the Bulgarian community celebrated the 139^th anniversary of the unification of the Principality of Bulgaria and Eastern Rumelia. Special guests at the event were Mr Miroslav Chakaryan, Concertmaster of the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra and his wife Ms Susan Mouton, who performed four Bulgarian pieces for string duo.  After the concert and the festive program, everybody joined in dancing the traditional Bulgarian Horo.

At the initiative of the Bulgarian Embassy, the documentary “Alexander of Battenberg: the Prince of Unification was shown to our compatriots on a streaming platform.
