The Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in cooperation with BuCI organized a solemn celebration of Independence Day - September 22, which took place in the prestigious in the Polish capital Warsaw "Palace of the Island", located in the park complex "Lazienki Krolewskie". This was the first official protocol event organized by the Bulgarian embassy after two years of restrictions in connection with the pandemic situation.

Ambassador Pavel Czerwinski - Foreign Policy Adviser to the President of the Republic of Poland and other representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, cultural institutions, local authorities in Poland, the Apostolic Nuncio, ambassadors and foreign diplomats accredited in Warsaw, a delegation from the Polish Orthodox Church and other guests - about 100 present, respected the celebration, which was in accordance with the sanitary conditions and requirements for holding public events. Special guests at the celebration of the holiday were: the caretaker Minister of Energy Mr. Andrey Zhivkov and the Mayor of Lovech, Mrs. Cornelia Marinova.

In her welcoming speech, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bulgaria to Poland Margarita Ganeva outlined the historical and modern symbols, the current meaning and place of Independence Day among the official holidays of our country.

The church choir "Dostoyno yest" at the Cathedral "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" in Lovech, conducted by Dimitrina Drenska, performed with great success a concert of works of old Bulgarian church music. Two concerts were planned in the festive program.

On September 23, the choir successfully presented its repertoire of traditional and unanimous chants and choral performances of Bulgarian church music, as well as works by contemporary composers at the Suprasl Academy - one of the main Orthodox educational centers in Central Europe. The Suprasl Monastery - the place that is historically connected with the tradition of the Preslav Literary School, under the patronage of the Bulgarian Ambassador and Honorary Consul of Antiquity for this region - Mr. Witold Karchevsi, was opened a air exhibition "The European Way of Saints Cyril and Methodius and their students ", prepared by KMNC at BAS. About 90 people present at the concert applauded each of the performances of the Lovech Cathedral Choir.

Ambassador Ganeva presented an original of an icon of the Most Holy Mother of God with the baby to the Bishop of the Suprasl Lavra - Andrew. In front of the miraculous icon of the Mother of God in the monastery itself, the choir sang the song of praise in her honor "Eat Worthily".
