Nuclear energy is and will continue to be a significant factor in meeting the EU's ambitious decarbonisation and zero-carbon goals. This was stated by the Minister of Energy Andrey Zhivkov in the presence of the participants in the ministerial meeting of the Partnership for Transatlantic Energy and Climate Cooperation (P-TECC), which was held in the Polish capital Warsaw. Minister Zhivkov spoke at the forum within the panel dedicated to nuclear energy. In his speech, he emphasized the rich experience of our country in the safe and secure operation of nuclear facilities for the production of clean and affordable energy over the years. According to him, the nuclear sector continues to be a guarantee of energy security and independence, providing energy to businesses and households at competitive prices.

Participants in the P-TECC initiative include the United States and 22 European countries - Bulgaria, Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Montenegro, the Republic of North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Ukraine, in close cooperation with the EU. P-TECC focuses on the technical cooperation in a number of key areas, such as providing analysis and planning for the integration of gas pipeline and electric power transmission systems, providing the best practices in energy cybersecurity, promoting new capital investments in key energy infrastructures and improving energy efficiency, and clean energy consumption, including in the field of renewable energy sources, nuclear energy and fossil fuels.
