On December 02, 2022, the MP Sharbel Maroun from the "Free Patriotic Movement" from the West Bekaa and Rashaya region, accompanied by Mr. Joseph Haddad, paid a courtesy visit to the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Lebanon. He met with the ambassador  Boyan Belev, the head of the Political Section Ivaylo Hristov and the head of the Commercial Section Plamen Vasilev. In a friendly atmosphere the conversation during the meeting they touched upon different issues concerning the current situation in Bulgaria and Lebanon, common areas of interest for stronger future cooperation. Mr. Maroun was briefed about the program for Bulgarian Developmet Aid and the project funded through this program in Lebanon. With regard to politics, the discussion included the need for Lebanon to work for the election of a new president, to form a government, to implement  IMF-sponsored reforms and to stabilize the national economy.
