On March 4th, 2022, NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Greece (NRDC-GR HQ) celebrated the Bulgarian National Day. Commander of NRDC-GR Lieutenant General Anastasios SPANOS welcomed the Bulgarian acting Consul General Mr. Valentin PAVLOV and Consuls from the Contributing Nations, who honored the event with their presence.

Deputy Commander of NRDC-GR, Major General (BGR A) Ivan ORTOMAROV, the Senior Bulgarian Officer in the HQ, highlighted the importance of the day and expressed his sincere gratitude to Greece as the Host Nation, as well as to all contributing Nations, for the opportunity provided to the Bulgarian Contingent to raise the Bulgarian Flag on their National Day.

The Commander of NRDC-GR expressed his pleasure for celebrating together the 144th anniversary of Bulgaria’s independence while Mr. Valentin PAVLOV thanked the Commander for providing the opportunity of the celebration and referred to the contribution of Bulgaria in the activities of the Alliance. The ceremony concluded with a reception that took place at NRDC-GR HQ’s premises.

During the event, all the respective COVID-19 pandemic protocols were implemented and the protective measures were followed.
