Charity event of the Bulgarian Embassy and the Art Group of the Spouses of Ambassadors to China

On the occasion of the International Children's Day - June 1, on the initiative of Ambassador Porozhanov's spouse - Mrs. Kamelia Kiriy, the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria organized a charity exhibition of artworks created by the Art Group of Ambassadors' Spouses in China.

The event took place on June 1, 2021 at the Bulgarian Embassy. During the Opening ceremony of the exhibition, the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to China Mr. Grigor Porozhanov gave a speech to welcome the guests, among whom were Ambassadors and their spouses, diplomats and official Chinese guests, as well as Beijing citizens and their families.

The exhibition was entitled "Smile with me." Some of the artworks of the authors were in traditional Chinese style. It was Miss Ivet Nikolova - the daughter of a Bulgarian diplomat, who introduced the traditional technique to the spouses. The art group of the wives was established in 2017 and it is currently hosted by the wife of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The aim of the spouses is through charitable activities to use their skills to contribute to the local community.

The charity event on the occasion of Children's Day was organized by Ambassador Porozhanov and his spouse Kamelia Kiriy together with the Migrant Children Foundation (MCF).

The artworks were offered on a charity auction, which raised more than 70,000 Chinese yuan. All proceeds will be used to pay for the health examinations of children.

The guests could enjoy some traditional dishes from the Bulgarian and Balkan cuisine and also dishes from the countries of the spouses from the Art group. The event also included interactive activities for all the children.
