Commemorative ceremony on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the end of World War II
08 May 2026 NewsOn 8 May 2026, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Bulgaria to Belgium and Luxembourg, Natalia Uzunova, took part in the commemorative ceremony marking the 81st anniversary of the end of the Second World War, held at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Laeken, Brussels. During the official ceremony, the Ambassador laid a wreath in tribute to the memory of those who lost their lives in the war.
The event was attended by representatives of the Belgian Royal Court, the Chairs of the Senate and the Chamber of Representatives, the Belgian Minister of Defence, representatives of the federal and local authorities, the armed forces, as well as the diplomatic corps, and civil society.
The ceremony paid tribute to all victims of the Second World War highlighting the importance of peace, solidarity, and the preservation of historical memory.
