A seminar for Belgian companies on the economic opportunities, related to the structural funds in Bulgaria and Romania under the current programming period 2014-2020 took place on 28 November 2018 in Brussels. The event was organized by the Flanders Investment and Trade Agency (FIT) and the Walloon Agency on Export and Investment (AWEX). Its objective was to provide information to interested companies about the possibilities stemming from the different programmes financed with European funds. The interest in the seminar was quite big both from companies already active in the two countries and firms looking for new opportunities for their business projects. Experts from the administration of the Council of Ministers presented the different operational programmes in Bulgaria, the application procedures and conditions. Representatives of the Belgian bank UBB-KBC shared their experience in Bulgaria and gave useful recommendations and guidelines to future Belgian investors interested in Bulgaria.

In her welcoming speech Ambassador Maya Dobreva stressed on the traditional links between Bulgaria and Belgium and the increasing interest of Belgian companies in our country. She expressed her confidence that events like this one contribute to the development of the great potential that exists in the economic relations between the two countries.
