Ambassador Maya Dobreva attended the final of the Green and Water categories of the StartUp Europe Awards (SEUA) that was held on July 24^th at the Berlaymont Building of the European Commission. Together with the Commissioner in charge of Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Mr Karmenu Vella, they welcomed the winners of the competition.

Bulgarian companies won the awards in both categories in competition with finalists from Belgium, Croatia, Greece, Ireland, Republic of Macedonia, Poland, Spain, Italy, Luxembourg, Romania. 

The Bulgarian company which develops a fully biodegradable material made of agricultural waste was awarded the best European StartUp prize in the  Green category. Another Bulgarian company whose objective is to develop innovative instruments for better and faster water quality control through its BOD monitoring system is the best European StartUp in the water category.

Ambassador Dobreva noted with gratitude the recognition of Bulgarian StartUps for their contribution to innovative practices for a better environment.
