Ambassador Rouslan Stoyanov presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev

On March 7, 2023, Ambassador Ruslan Stoyanov presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.

President Aliyev congratulated Ambassador Stoyanov on his appointment, emphasized that our countries are close and strategic partners and expressed confidence that the bilateral relations will continue to develop. Noting the high-level reciprocal visits, the president underlined that during the visits decisions were made on many important issues on the bilateral agenda. The head of state noted the positive role of Bulgaria in the cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union and between Azerbaijan and NATO.

Ambassador Stoyanov expressed his gratitude to the president for receiving him so soon after his arrival in Baku and emphasized that he considers this as a testimony of the good relations between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan. The ambassador stressed that Bulgaria considers Azerbaijan to be a strategic partner. The dynamic bilateral dialogue and the numerous visits and meetings at the highest level are a strong indicator for that and Bulgaria values the mutual trust between our countries. The ambassador focused on the importance of the commissioning of the interconnector between Bulgaria and Greece and pointed out that, in addition to the energy sector, the two countries could interact successfully in the IT sector and fields of transport, commerce, culture and sports. Ambassador Stoyanov emphasized that relations between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria are not only strategic, but also friendly and expressed his readiness to work actively for their further expansion and strengthening.
