Meeting of Ambassador Anastasov with the NA Vice President Vahe Enfiajyan

On 11.05.2021 Amb. Kalin Anastasov had a meeting with the RA NA Vice President Vahe Enfiajyan, Chairman of the Armenia-Bulgaria Interparliamentary Friendship Group. At the beginning of the conversation, Mr. Enfiajyan welcomed Amb. Anastasov with the start of his diplomatic mission in Armenia. Mr. Enfiajyan pointed out that the positive political dialogue and the traditionally good relations between Armenia and Bulgaria have the potential for helping to develop economic sphere, especially in the field of agriculture, high technology, processing industry and renewable energy sources. From his side, Amb. Anastasov emphasized the fact that interstate relations are a real basis for the development of mutually beneficial economic and trade relations, with the common goal of achieving concrete results. Amb. Anastasov pointed out that Bulgaria will strive to implement, as well as increase the opportunity for educational and scientific exchange, based on already signed intergovernmental agreements. Afterwards, Mr. Anastasov informed Mr. Enfiajyan that Bulgaria resumes the reception of Armenian tourists in the country, and for this purpose, 10-15 charter flights are expected to be carried out during the summer season. He also highlighted that one of his priorities is the launch of the direct flight Yerevan-Sofia as an important condition for expanding opportunities for cultural tourism and optimizing business relations between the business community.

Vice President Enfiajyan mentioned the high level of inter-parliamentary dialogue with Bulgaria, as well as joint initiatives within international forums.

During the meeting, the situation in the Caucasus region was also discussed. Mr. Anastasov expressed the position of the Bulgarian side that the stability in the region is an important condition for the prosperity of the countries and stressed that the solution should be sought within the active work of the OSCE Minsk Group.
