The Bulgarian female quartet "Vaya" gave its concert in "Sofia" church in Stockholm.

On September1st, 2013 the Bulgarian female quartet "Vaya" gave its concert in "Sofia" church in Stockholm. The quartet performed a capellafolk songs under the accompaniment of gadulka, played by Todor Bakoev and tambura, played by Michail Dinchev, from different regions in Bulgaria- Dobrudzha, Shopluka, Thrace etc.Over 80 guests, including the members of the Bulgarian-Swedish society, enjoyed the performances of songs such as "Stoyan, my son", "Beautiful Yana liessick", "Sevdelina, you are beautiful as a clover", "Ginka washes white tablecloths on the River " and others.

The event was held with the kind support of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Sweden. Among the official guests of the concert were the Ambassadors and the Charge d’Affaires of missions of Macedonia, Slovakia, Moldova, Germany and Romania.

This is the second visit of "Vaya" quartet to Sweden. The group was founded in 2009 and consists of four young and talented Bulgarian female folk singers from Plovdiv in Central Bulgaria. The Quartet's repertoire includes some of the exclusive, unique and vibrant songs of the Bulgaria’s folk treasure, following its choral tradition. The group has performed in Finland, Sweden and India. The Quartet is a part also of the Finnish-Bulgarian octet Finno-Balkan Voices (www.finnobalkanvoices.com). The music is played a capella and is accompanied by acoustic instruments.

Earlier during the day, "Vaya" quartet had a concert in the church at Näsby Park in Stockholm, which was a part of the Sunday mass.
