A STEM training workshop for students and teachers delivered by the Bulgarian "Tinusaur" Foundation at the renowned Sci-Bono Discovery Centre, Johannesburg

A 5-day STEM training workshop for students and teachers, presented by a group of Bulgarian specialists from foundation “Tinusaur” took place at the Sci-Bono Discovery Centre in Johannesburg during the period 19-23 February 2024.

Foundation “Tinusaur” is a leading Bulgarian organisation for the development of education methods in the fields of electronics, robotics and programming. The workshop took place in two modules - a practical exercise in electronics and programming for students from the Province of Gauteng and teaching methods training for teachers from the same province. The initiative created a positive image of the Bulgarian achievements in the fields of science, technologies, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and was highly appreciated by the participants as well as by the attending representatives of the South African educational institutions.

During the final stage of the initiative, Ambassador Maria Pavlova invited the Bulgarian specialists from foundation “Tinusaur” and the representatives of the foundation “BCause”, supporting them, at her residence. The Ambassador welcomed the Bulgarian educational initiative and expressed the readiness of the Embassy to continue its support for its becoming a long-term and sustainable element of the collaboration between Bulgaria and South Africa in the fields of education, technologies and innovation.
