The Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Korea would like to inform with profound grief that His Holiness the Bulgarian Patriarch and Sofia Metropolitan Neophyte, Head of the Bulgarian Holy Orthodox Church, has passed away. By decision of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria March 15-16, 2024 have therefore been declared Days of National mourning in the Republic of Bulgaria.

The Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria would like to respectfully notify that condolences on the passing of Patriarch Neophyte may be offered via [email protected] from March 15 through March 18, 2024. Furthermore, a physical Book of condolences will be open at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Korea from 2:30 pm through 5:00 pm on Monday, March 18, 2024.
