Bulgarian tourism event in Berlin

On September 27, the Embassy of Bulgaria in Berlin celebrated the International Day of Tourism with a themed evening dedicated to Bulgarian tourism. The event was personally opened by H.E. Grigor Porozhanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Federal Republic of Germany, who emphasized the importance of the German tourist market, the advantages and attractiveness of our country as a year-round tourist destination and the huge potential in this area between the two countries.

The event was carried out in cooperation with the German Travel Journalists Club "CTOUR Touristik.Forum", whose chairman, Mr. Hans Peter Gaul, emphasized the possibilities of increasing the popularity of Bulgaria among German tourists and the readiness for partnership in this direction. The union members count over 70 journalists from leading media, specialized in travel and leisure and many of them have not yet visited our country.

The attaché for tourism in Germany, Mr. Tihomir Patarinski, presented Bulgaria as a destination for year-round and sustainable tourism in all its diversity: sea, mountains, balneology, walking routes, round trips, culture, golf, climate therapy, etc.

The discussion was filled with interest and many questions, which also included Dr. Volker Beresheim, chairman of the German-Bulgarian Forum, Dr. Siyka Katsarova, chairman of the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and Spa Tourism, Mrs. Carmen Struck, deputy manager of the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mrs. Albena Fricke, Albena resort and Mr. Manol Dimitrov from the Bulgarian Black Sea municipalities.

The German journalists shared their impressions of their visits to Bulgaria and noted the huge potential our country has to establish itself as a year-round destination with competitive tourism product. Reports and articles about Bulgarian tourism are going to be published during the winter period, and the journalists noted that such events increase the interest and popularity of our country among the Germans.

Part of the presentation on the occasion of the International Day of Tourism was also combined with a tasting of Bulgarian wines and traditional culinary specialties.
