The Permanent Representative of Bulgaria to NATO met a delegation of Tunisian parliamentarians

On invitation by the Public Diplomacy Division, a delegation of Tunisian representatives visited NATO HQ on 26 October for a series of informative briefings on topical issues of NATO’s current agenda. As part of the program of the visit, they also had a discussion with a panel of ambassadors, led by the Bulgarian Permanent Representative, Ambassador Churov. Bulgaria has taken up the functions of a Contact Point Embassy (CPE) for Tunisia for the period 2009-2010.
Ambassador Churov underlined Tunisia’s valuable role and contribution to the regional security and stability and expressed satisfaction with the development of NATO-Tunisia relations, in the context of the Mediterranean Dialogue. He briefed the delegates about the functions of the CPE and touched upon some important issues on NATO’s current agenda. The Tunisian parliamentarians expressed appreciation for Bulgaria’s efforts in promoting the cooperation of their country with the Alliance.
With a view of the forthcoming transfer of the CPE functions for Tunisia to France, the French Permanent Representative to NATO, Ambassador Pascale Andreani, also took part in the panel discussion.
