Foreign Minister Nickolay Mladenov held talks with NATO Deputy Secretary General Claudio Bisogniero

The development of Smart Defence in NATO and preparations for the NATO Summit in Chicago in 2012 were the main topics of discussion during a meeting between Foreign Minister Nickolay Mladenov and NATO Deputy Secretary General Claudio Bisogniero.
They discussed the situation in Afghanistan and the plans for a transition to a civilian mission in the country.
The Bulgarian Foreign Minister raised the issue of Bosnia and Herzegovina joining NATO and the need to maintain that prospect for the country, provided that it meets the conditions set by the Alliance.
Mr. Claudio Bisogniero is visiting Bulgaria as a special envoy of the Secretary General of NATO on the issues of Smart Defence.
