Celebration of the Day of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, the Bulgarian alphabet, education and culture and the Slavonic literature

The Embassy of Bulgaria in Armenia celebrated May 24, Day of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, the Bulgarian alphabet, education and culture and the Slavonic literature. For the second year in a row, the event was held in the mission garden on June 1, the International Children's Day. The guests of the celebration were pupils from the Yerevan's 131st basic school of "Peyo Yavorov", who performed Armenian and Bulgarian songs and folk dances, as well as children from the Bulgarian community in Yerevan. An exhibition of paintings by the children from the school was also presented. More than 140 pupils, teachers, Bulgarian citizens and friends of Bulgaria had fun with games, songs and dances.

The celebration was honored by the Directorate and part of the team of the Europe Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.

In his welcoming words to the guests of the celebration, Ambassador Anastasov noted that children are the future of Armenia, their dreams, talents and ideas carry the power to change the world. The ambassador emphasized that on the first of June it is very important to tell the children how special they are to us and how proud we are of them. This is a day when we most strongly realize that ensuring a happy and peaceful childhood for our children is the mission of each of us as a parent, teacher and diplomat.

The embassy team expresses its gratitude to the teachers and pupils of Peyo Yavorov basic school, as well as to all the guests present, for their wonderful mood and the unforgettable time shared with us.
