Dear friends,

The Embassy is happy to announce that on November 8, 2017 the Bulgarian Government approved an earmarked voluntary contribution in the amount of 174 000 US dollars for the implementation of UNICEF project aiming to promote the reform of child protection sector in Armenia.

The amount has been allocated from the Bulgarian official development aid managed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The project agreement will be signed by H.E. Ms. Maria Pavlova Tzotzorkova, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria, and Ms. Tanja Radocaj, Representative of UNICEF for Armenia. In order to apply lessons learned from Bulgaria UNICEF office will pilot a small group home model for children with-out parental care in Syunik or Lori marz (depending on the developments towards deinstitutionalization) for up to 10 children.

A joint conference with sub-regional participation will be organized in Armenia to share and disseminate the outcomes and experiences of the project.
