The exhibition” The Power of civil society" at Dublin’s City Library

April 7 2010, an exhibition” The Power of civil society- the fate of the Jews in Bulgaria in the time of the Holocaust”, was formally unveiled at Dublin’s City Library. Organized by Bulgaria’s embassy to Ireland and sponsored by the Holocaust Educational Trust of Ireland (HETI), the exhibition’s opening ceremony was attended by Dublin’s Mayor Mrs. Emer Costello, Ireland’s new Minister of State for Integration Mrs. Mary White, Mr. Rory Queene- MP, Ireland Foreign Ministry officials, holocaust survivors, the ambassadors of Germany, Sweden, the Czech Republic, the head of the EP office in Ireland, as well as diplomats from  Israel, Romania, Poland, Croatia and Bulgarians residing in Ireland.Dublin’s Mayor Mrs. Emer Costello, Bulgaria’s ambassador Mr. Emil Yalnuzov and the Minister of State for Integration Mrs. Mary White jointly opened the exhibition. The Bulgarian ambassador announced the Institute for Culture at The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was bestowing the exhibition on HETI in support of its educational mission among the young generation. Mrs. Lynn Jackson, HETI Chief Executive, extended thanks on behalf of the trust.A relevant booklet, compiled by D-r Albena Taneva from the Centre for Jewish Studies at Sofia University” St. Kliment Ohridsky”, author of the exposition, was presented too.The exhibition will stay open for viewing until the end of April 2010. A movie- “Beyond Hitler’s grasp”, after the book of the same title by Prof. Michael Bar-Zohar, is available for daily screening; on special request too. After April the exhibition will travel to be displayed in cities, universities and schools in the country as well.
