On Occasion of the Month of Francophonie, The Bulgarian Documentary Film "Sylvie Vartan. From Love" was Presented In Amman, Jordan
On 23rd April, on occasion of Month of Francophonie, the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Amman, Jordan organized a screening of the documentary film "Sylvie Vartan. From Love" with the assistance of the State Institute for Culture under the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Association of Jordanian Students Graduated in Bulgaria.
In his welcome speech, the Ambassador of Bulgaria H. E. Mr. Metin Kazak spoke about the life and art of Sylvie Vartan. Sylvie Vartan left Bulgaria at a very early age and settled in France, where she built an impressive musical career. As part of the generation of the so-called "yeah-yeah" performers, along with Johnny Holiday, she gained international popularity and gave concerts in Europe, the USA, Asia, as well as on one of the most prestigious French stages - Olympia Hall in Paris. Despite leaving her homeland early, the singer retained her affiliation with Bulgaria. She actively supported cultural and charitable initiatives related to the spread of Bulgarian culture around the world and became a symbol of the living connection between Bulgarian and French culture.
The documentary film "Sylvie Vartan. From Love" written by Georgi Toshev and directed by Emma Konstantinova presented not only the singer's artistic career, but also her personal path, including topics such as love, identity, belonging and memory.
The event was attended by both Jordanian citizens, members of the Bulgarian community, and representatives of the diplomatic corps, including the ambassadors of France and Morocco in Amman, as well as members of international organizations.
