The Photographic Exhibition "Directions" is presented at the International Festival of Photography and Debate "ValenciaPhoto" in the City of Valencia
On September 19, 2024 in the building of the palace-museum "El Almudín" in the historical center of the city of Valencia, the international festival of photography and debate "ValenciaPhoto" was officially opened with a large photographic exhibition on the theme "From Valencia to the world".
Those present were greeted by Mr. Juan Carlos Caballero - Vice Mayor in the Municipality of Valencia and Spokesperson of the Municipality and Mr. José Luis Moreno - Councilor for Cultural Affairs in the Municipality.
The event was attended by representatives of the consular corps in the city of Valencia, including the consuls general of Morocco and Peru, the honorary consuls of Monaco, Croatia and Poland, the consul of Lithuania. The Republic of Bulgaria was represented by the Consul General Mrs. Nadia Krasteva and the Consul Mr. Ilian Iliev.
The director of the festival, Mr. Nicolas Lawrence, introduced the works, stating that the aim of the exhibition was to show the similarities between different countries and cultures. He emphasized that while in previous editions of the festival only one country participated, in 2024 photographs of authors from Lithuania, USA, France, Guatemala, Peru, Spain, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Morocco were presented. Photographs taken by amateurs reflect the themes of globalization, identity, intercultural dialogue and tolerance between different nations.
With the assistance of the Consulate General of the Republic of Bulgaria in Valencia, our country was presented with the photographic exhibition of the State Institute for Culture under the Minister of Foreign Affairs "Directions". The purpose of the exhibition is to promote Bulgarian talented photographers and the rich Bulgarian culture, both before the Spanish public and among the large Bulgarian diaspora in the Consular District of Valencia.
The International Festival of Photography and Debate "ValenciaPhoto" will continue until September 22, 2024, and the expositions will be on display until November 23, 2024. In this year's edition of the festival, 66 photographers participate, whose photos are exhibited in 24 expositions located in 17 emblematic and historical buildings in the city of Valencia.
