Upcoming launch of the photo album "Bulgaria Rediscovered" by Peyo Kolev at the "Mission" Gallery

26/05/26

On 27 May at 5:30 p.m., the photo album "Bulgaria Rediscovered", compiled and edited by Peyo Kolev and published by the Bulgarian Art and Culture Foundation, will have its official premiere at the Mission Gallery to the State Institute for Culture to the Minister of Foreign Affairs. The event is organized by the Diplomatic Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The photo album contains original research and articles accompanied by photographs taken from the editor's personal collection, which have formed the basis of the popular “Lost Bulgaria” website. The content is presented in an accessible and captivating manner, and is richly illustrated with photographic material. The album dedicates an entire section on Bulgarian diplomats who are not particularly well-known for their diplomatic work, or who have been forgotten. The album holds high research and archival value, and will be available for purchase at the event.

“It is precisely the photographs from personal archives that comprise the true story. The rest is simply dates and events. The life of the ordinary person, however, is the fabric that builds the world of past generations, and these photographs are threads woven into the foundation of who we are today," the album's editor, Peyo Kolev, shares in an interview for Bulgarian online media Webcafe.

We look forward to seeing you!
