MYTHOLOGICAL TRANSFORMATIONS – contemporary paper art

Sofia Paper Art Fest (SPAF) and Amateras Foundation are proud to present the exhibition Mythological Transformations – the second event of the Bulgarian-Turkish cultural exchange that began in 2025. Following the successful artist residency in Pavlikeni this summer, this project marks the next step in establishing a long-term partnership between Bulgaria and Turkey in the field of contemporary art.
The exhibition is held under the patronage of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in the Republic of Bulgaria and in close cooperation with the State Institute for Culture of the Ministry of Culture. It is part of the strategic cultural events in the Cultural Calendar of Sofia Municipality for 2025, emphasising cultural diplomacy as a tool for strengthening bilateral relations.
The exhibition will feature five contemporary artists from Izmir – Şükran Tümer, Neslihan Çakır, Benay Durmuş, Prof.Dr. Fethiye Erbay, Doç.Dr. Mutlu Erbay, some of whom are lecturers at Ege University. The project conveys a message of cultural dialogue, mutual respect, and sharing of creative experience between the two countries.
