Inspirations by Poland in the Exhibition "Mythological Reminiscences. Inspirations from a Journey" at the "Mission" Gallery

On October 9, 2024, the joint exhibition of artists Marieta Konova and Mario Konov, titled "Mythological Reminiscences. Inspirations from a Journey" – inspired by Polish cities – was officially opened at the "Mission" Gallery of the State Institute for Culture under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The event was held in partnership with the Polish Institute in Sofia and attracted numerous guests, university professors, and representatives of the cultural community.

The director of the State Institute for Culture, Mrs. Snezhana Yoveva-Dimitrova, welcomed the guests, congratulating the artists for their contribution to Bulgarian art and education, as they are both associate professors at Veliko Tarnovo University. Prof. Laura Dimitrova from the Department of Fine Arts at Sofia University spoke about the work of Marieta and Mario Konov, offering an in-depth analysis of the techniques, themes, and specifics of their works. She emphasized the strength of the pieces and their impact, with themes from mythology and contemporary life combined innovatively and carrying powerful messages for the audience.

Associate Professor Marieta Konova expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to exhibit at the "Mission" Gallery alongside Mario Konov and his sculptures. She shared the inspiration behind her vivid and colorful paintings, which stemmed from their travels in Poland and left a profound mark on her work.

Among the official guests was Mrs. Malgorzata Heyduk-Gromek, First Counselor, Head of the Consular and Polish Diaspora Department at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Sofia, who expressed her admiration for the exhibition and praised the excellent cultural partnership between Bulgaria and Poland.

The exhibition will run until October 30, allowing visitors to enjoy the remarkable works of the two artists, inspired by ancient mythology and the cultural, architectural, and historical richness of Poland.
