The State Institute for Culture Presented an Award for Sculpture
On October 3, 2025, in Hall 1A of the Union of Bulgarian Artists - Shipka 6, the "2-0-2-5. National Sculpture Exhibition" was opened. The event is part of the annual program of the Sculpture section of the Union of Bulgarian Artists and presents leading trends in contemporary Bulgarian plastic art.
A jury consisting of Kiril Vassilev, Kamen Tsvetkov, Pancho Kurtev, arch. Boris Borisov, Hristo Kaloyanov, Ivaylo Avramov, Petar Nakov, Vitali Halvadzhiev, Pavlin Radevski, Galya Blagoeva and Snezhana Yoveva - director of the State Institute for Culture at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, awarded the awards in this year's edition.
The State Institute for Culture Award was awarded to sculptor Yane Gadzhev, who will present a solo exhibition at the "Mission" Gallery in 2026. The award is presented for contribution to the development of contemporary Bulgarian sculpture and for original artistic search.
The Sponsor Award for an author under the age of 40 went to Hristo Antonov, and the Union of Bulgarian Artists Award was awarded to Boyan Penchev. Svetoslava Atanasova, Simeon Simeonov and Petar Petrov were awarded with nominations.
The exhibition "2-0-2-5. National Sculpture Exhibition" is open to visitors from October 3 to 25, 2025 at the Union of Bulgarian Artists - Shipka 6, Hall 1A. With a motto playing with the numbers of the year - "2-0-2-5", the exhibition brings together works by established and young authors, members and non-members of the Union of Bulgarian Artists, and places emphasis on the continuity between generations in the Bulgarian sculpture school.
