Between April 19 and 27, 2025, the Pakistani capital Islamabad hosted the first edition of a film festival organized as part of Francophonie Week. The event brought together representatives from various Francophone countries and cultures, with Bulgaria participating with a contemporary cinematic work.

Bulgaria was represented by the feature film "The Endless Garden" by director Galin Stoev, provided with the assistance of the State Institute for Culture. The screening of the film took place on April 26 and attracted wide interest from the local audience and the festival guests.

Bulgarian participation was further supported by the involvement of the head of the Bulgarian Embassy in Pakistan, who appeared in a video campaign dedicated to promoting the event. The representative of the diplomatic mission emphasized the importance of cultural dialogue and cooperation among Francophone countries, highlighting Bulgaria’s role within this diverse community.

The film festival in Islamabad was received very positively by both the general public and critics. The Infinite Garden earned high praise for its artistic merit, originality, and the depth of its message. Critics particularly noted the film’s elegant cinematography, impactful performances, and contemplative rhythm, which leaves a lasting emotional impression.

Bulgaria’s participation in this cultural initiative reaffirms its role as an active contributor to international Francophone dialogue and underlines its commitment to cultural exchange through cinema and the arts.
