The premiere of the new documentary film To Fly with Flippers, dedicated to the renowned artist Altsek Mishev, took place at the prestigious House of Cinema in Rome. Produced by Agitprop, the film has received numerous national and international awards this year, including the Grand Prize from the State Cultural Institute under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the International Film Festival for Documentary Cinema in the Field of Art – Master of Art.

During the event, Altsek Mishev, often compared to Kisto, also showcased his boutique exhibition, which highlighted his stature as a world-class artist. The evening culminated in a special ceremony where Mishev was awarded the Golden Age award, the highest honor from the Ministry of Culture, presented on November 1st—National Awakening Day—for his outstanding contribution to promoting Bulgarian culture. The award, which includes a necklace and badge, was presented by H.E. Todor Stoyanov, Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Italy, who praised the artist's exceptional talent and his contribution to contemporary Bulgarian culture.

Special guests at the event included Snezhana Yoveva-Dimitrova, Director of the State Cultural Institute; Iliyan Lolugov, Head of the Cultural Policy Department at the State Cultural Institute; Iliya Lozanov, Director of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Rome; as well as members of the film's creative team, including director Maria Averina, co-screenwriter Mariana Svetoslavova, editor Mina Altaparmakova, and composer Petar Dundakov. The event also drew many of Mishev's friends and Italian guests.

The Art Fund of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is proud to hold a painting by Altsek Mishev, created in 2021 as part of his Diplomacy and Art exhibition, which has been showcased in various national museums and galleries across Bulgaria and the region.

The event was organized by the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Rome in partnership with the State Cultural Institute.
