The Consulate General of Bulgaria in Shanghai together with other EU Member States participated in the EU Open House. The event was organized by the Belgium Presidency of the Council of EU with the support of the Benelux Chamber of Commerce in China.

The opening ceremony of the Bulgaria-China art exhibition “Ceramic Transitions” took place in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi province, on 1 May 2024. It presents artworks of the Bulgarian artists Emilia Emileva, Georgi Milenov, Iva Ivanova, Maria Ganeva, Marta Dimitrova, Mihaela Kamenova, Nadezhda Hristova, Ralitsa Yovkova and Tsvetan Donkovski, as well as the Chinese artists, Qi Zhenyu, Ruan Yuelai, Sun Yiyun, Tan Danwu, Wang Jie, Yu Hui and Zheng Wenqing. The curator of the exhibition, Assadour Markarov is a Bulgarian professor in the Department of Sculpture at the Varbanov Fiber Art Research Centre of China Academy of Art.

The National Day of Bulgaria – March 3rd was celebrated in the Consulate General of Bulgaria in Shanghai on March 1st, 2024. Compatriots from the Bulgarian community in the consular region were present, together with representatives of local authorities, Chinese state-owned enterprises, universities and Chinese citizens who have studied Bulgarian language.

At the invitation of the Ministry of Education of People’s Republic of China (MoE), the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Bulgaria Ms. Marieta Georgieva attended the 2024 World Digital Education Conference in Shanghai on January 29th - 31st. The conference was co-hosted by the MoE, the Chinese National Commission for UNESCO and Shanghai Municipal People’s Government.

The 17th Hangzhou International Cultural and Creative Industry Expo (HICCI) was officially opened on November 23rd, 2023 and is going to welcome visitors for five days. The HICCI is hosted by Hangzhou Municipal People’s Government, Zhejiang University and China Academy of Art (CAA).

The 6th China International Export Expo (CIIE-2023) is taking place in Shanghai from 5th to 10th November 2023.

On November 1st, 2023 at Zhejiang Conservatory of Music (ZJCM), Hangzhou, the opening ceremony of the 4th China-CEEC Forum of Music Academy Deans and Rectors and China-CEEC Music and Dance Festival took place. Both forums are scheduled for the period October 30th – November 7th, 2023 and the Bulgarian participants include Prof. Sava Dimitrov, rector of National Academy of Music “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov” and his colleague Assoc. Prof. Mariana Pencheva, as well as Prof. Natalia Afeyan and Assist. Prof. Margarita Krusteva from the Department of Music at New Bulgarian University.

The 2nd China-CEEC Conference on Technology Cooperation and Exchange took place in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, on 19 October 2023. It was organized by the Department of International Cooperation of Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and Jiangsu Provincial Department of Science and Technology (JSTD).
