Welcome to the site of the Consulate General of Republic of Bulgaria in Shanghai! The Republic of Bulgaria and the People’s Republic of China enjoy traditionally friendly relations. As part of the strategic partnership between the European Union and the People’s Republic of China, in the contemporary circumstances the Bulgarian-Chinese ties are gradually developing into a partnership with strategic dimensions. Intensive political dialogue has been conducted between the two countries, there are close contacts and active collaboration in many areas. Opened since august 2005, the Consulate General applies its efforts for: developing the contacts and the co-operation between Bulgaria and the consular district, comprising Shanghai and the provinces of Anhui, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Fujian; encouraging the ties between bulgarian and chinese institutions, companies and organizations; promoting Bulgaria as a member of the European Union and as an attractive destination for business, tourism and investments; encouraging bulgarian exports; attracting of chinese students to bulgarian universities. Naturally, a top priority for the Consulate General is to render all possible assistance and provide consular services for the bulgarian citizens.
