Ambassador Maria Tsotsorkova presents her credentials to Angolan President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço

On March 9, 2022, Ambassador Maria P. Tsotsorkova presented her credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Angola, residing in Pretoria, Republic of South Africa, to the President of Angola HE João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, at a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace in Luanda. During the ceremony, Ambassador Tsotsorkova was accompanied by the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Bulgaria in Angola Arnold Ferreira.

At the meetings of Ambassador Tsotsorkova with the President, the Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Tete António, Minister of National Defense General João Ernesto dos Santos and President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vicente Suarez reaffirmed the very good level of bilateral relations and discussed opportunities for further development and deepening political dialogue and trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. 

The Bulgarian side praised Angola's constructive role in international and regional organizations in creating a favorable climate and finding peaceful solutions to conflicts in the Great Lakes region. The Angolan side uses the occasion to reaffirm its gratitude to Bulgaria for the support provided in the years after the declaration of independence to build professionally trained personnel in priority areas of the economy and public administration of the young state.
