The Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria represents the Bulgarian state in Australia. Its key priority is to uphold Bulgarian interests on the basis of building relations of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation between Bulgaria and Australia.

Democratic Bulgaria with its ancient past and modern achievements as Member State of the European Union and NATO shares the same values and ideals as Australia, as well as similar positions on all important international issues. Bulgaria enjoys a growing interest on the part of Australia in its interesting natural and historical sites, in the new opportunities for trade and investments, as well as interest in the country as a reliable partner for resolving of a number of global problems.

More than 15,000 Australian citizens of Bulgarian origin are living in Australia today. The Embassy attaches a high priority in its work to providing the necessary consular services and to defending the interests of Bulgarian nationals in Australia, New Zealand and the states in the South Pacific region.
