
When applying for a visa, the applicant gives his consent to the submission of any data which appear on the application form to the relevant authorities in the Republic of Bulgaria and their processing by those authorities for the purposes of a decision on the visa application. Such data may be copies and stored in databases.
Personal data are processed in compliance with the effective legal framework (Law for Protection of the Personal Data and Ordinance № 1 dated 7 February 2007 on the minimal level of technical and organizational measures and the admissible type of personal data protection) and the internal rules within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Strong technical and organizational measures are taken to protect the personal data and to prevent any unauthorized access, damage, loss or destruction.
The Commission for Personal Data Protection is the independent Bulgarian state authority which provides protection of persons when processing their personal data and when accessing such data, as well as control of the compliance with the Law for Protection of the Personal Data.
