Bulgaria has the ambition this year to submit to the largest possible number of reviews in the Committees of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and I hope that the accession process will be finalized as soon as possible. This is what Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev said at his meeting with OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann on sidelines of the OECD Ministerial Council Meeting in Paris.

Bulgaria’s accession to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) helps us bring the national policies in line with the highest global standards. As a future OECD member, Bulgaria will do its best to disseminate the OECD best practices and policies in South-East Europe. The statement was made by Dimitar Glavchev, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, in his speech at the Meeting of the OECD Council at Ministerial Level in Paris.

Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Dimitar Glavchev leaves today for Paris, where he will participate in the Ministerial Meeting of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Prime Minister Glavchev will deliver a speech in the first plenary session, which will discuss the achievement of a sustainable, inclusive economy and society, as well as evidence-based policy-making on common challenges.

Bulgaria is expected to join the OECD by the end of 2025

For the first time Bulgaria has a specific deadline for joining the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). This is what Prime Minister Glavchev told journalists after his meeting with OECD Secretary General Matthias Korman. From the conversation of Prime Minister Glavchev with Secretary General Korman it became clear that the horizon for our country's accession is the end of next year 2025. A total of 31 reports of the OECD committees on Bulgaria have been adopted, with 26 more to go.

Bulgaria remains consistent and will continue to express its full support for the people of Ukraine, its independence and will actively participate in the process of its reconstruction.
